Foyer of Enchantment — 2024 Pasadena Showcase House (Potter Daniels Manor)
In, our team at Pink Guy Inc. had the privilege of contributing to the signature “Foyer of Enchantment” in the historic Potter Daniels Manor, part of the Pasadena Showcase House of Design. The mansion itself is an English Tudor-Revival landmark — originally built in then re-imagined in, and designated a City of Pasadena landmark for its storied architecture and refined detailing. We were tasked with bringing a fresh layer of magic while honoring the manor’s rich architectural heritage. Rising behind high iron gates and overlooking the Arroyo Seco, the estate’s grand walnut-paneled foyer anchors the home’s interior narrative. Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts
Our scope included a custom mural installation by Hattas Art Studios, the selection and installation of a John Richard chandelier dripping with glass leaves, bespoke silk wall coverings, and the integration of organic-form furniture by Amorph Studio. The design intention was bold yet sensitive: “I wanted you to feel like you were transported to another time and place,” said lead designer Rachel Scheff. Architectural Digest
By layering historic architectural elements — from hand-carved banisters and monumental stairway to leaded glass windows and walnut panelling — with contemporary artistic finishes and curated furnishings, the foyer becomes a portal into the manor’s past and a statement of its present. Visitors are greeted and immersed in an environment that feels timeless, elegant, and distinctly enchanted.
If you like, I can also write a shorter “call-out” version for use on your homepage, or provide bullet-point highlights of your specific scope and materials.
A Grateful Partnership
We’re deeply grateful to Sydney Harbour Paint Company for partnering with us on this showcase. Their exquisite collection of artisan finishes — from their iconic French Wash to their lime plasters and specialty coatings — played a key role in creating the layered, luminous surfaces that define the space.
Sydney Harbour’s commitment to authentic materials, craftsmanship, and timeless beauty aligns perfectly with our own ethos at Pink Guy Inc. This collaboration allowed us to bring a sense of Old World romance and refined texture to one of Pasadena’s most historic homes.
